For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.
On the surface it seems so simple. Taken on its own it seems so simple. However, when John 3:16 is situated within the larger context of John’s gospel and scripture itself its simplicity fades away. Left is the weight of this statement and how it impacts us on a daily basis. Found within this statement is the crux of God’s grace and our walk with faith.
How we reconcile God’s grace and our faith is a crucial question and not one easily answered.
